  Merry Christmas    from the Hegels This year’s Christmas letter is a little later than usual, so feel free to call it a New Years letter if you like. Life has felt busy for us, and I’m not sure if it’s really been busy, or if we’re just moving slower than we used to.   Anyway, here are some highlights from our family from 2024. This year marks 11 years since I officially retired from teaching, yet it doesn’t seem that long ago. I’m still working for Joseph, doing a variety of tasks, which, this past year, have included interior finishing, exterior stone work, framing, cabinet installation, tiling, and lots of drywall finishing and painting. I have worked as far away from home as Loon Lake (an hour and 40 minutes one way), and as close to home as a mile. I am still enjoying the work, and will probably continue until such time as my eyes and hands won’t cooperate.
